sermon delivered by Lorin Cope, UCC Minister for Conference Relations, on Sunday,
September 16, 2007 at Union Congregational Church in Somonauk, Illinois.
A 1978 graduate of Bowling Green State
University, Mr. Cope has a long history of service to the United
Church of Christ. He has served as a member of the United Church
of Christ’s Ohio Conference Board of Trustees, the corporate
board and board of directors of the United Church Board for
Homeland Ministries, and member of the United Church of Christ
Executive Council.
He completed the United Church of Christ’s lay ministry program in 1993.
In addition to his work with the United Church of Christ, Mr. Cope has also served as director of development and church relations for Hope Homes in Stow, Ohio, and was the executive director of the North Columbiana County Chapter of the American Red Cross in Salem, Ohio.
